Cut Cook Times in Half with the Vulcan Clamshell

Clamshells are popular griddle accessories in a busy restaurant. When mounted to a griddle, clamshells enable cooking from above and below the food product, making them the embodiment of the “do more with less” ethos. However, not all clamshells are created equal. One standout in the field? Our heavy-duty electric Vulcan Manual Clamshell (VMCS).

Amplify Your Production, Not Your Effort

Faster cook times are crucial for restaurants looking to optimize productivity. The VMCS is a serious time-saver with the potential to reduce cook times by more than 50 percent.

Some examples of the speed you can expect with the VMCS?  While the cook time of a frozen burger is 7:30 without the VMCS, the addition of a VMCS reduces this to 2:15 minutes for time savings of more than five minutes. For a six-ounce chicken breast, meanwhile, cook time drops from 12 minutes to 3:30 minutes for a time savings of more than eight minutes. These numbers speak for themselves -- especially when you multiply them across your entire menu.

But while time is of the essence for restaurants, other factors are equally important -- not the least of which being food quality and taste. The VMCS has been engineered with these things in mind, too.

The Vulcan Difference

Vulcan has long set the industry standard for innovation, performance and durability. The VMCS clamshell griddle more than delivers in all of these aspects thanks to Vulcan's signature design ingenuity. One of the VMCS’s noteworthy advantages is the use of Vulcan’s exclusive Rapid Recovery™ composite griddle plate, which offers even heating and a fast recovery. The result? More confident cooking and quicker batches.

Other user-friendly features of the mindfully designed Vulcan clamshell include a one-hand lift mechanism and gap adjustment accessory. Your kitchen staff will appreciate the easy, low-effort operation, as well as the ability to customize the clamshell’s configuration to the precise height of menu items to minimize squishing and maximize food quality.

If your restaurant is seeking to reduce cook times on its griddled menu items, look no further than the Vulcan clamshell. The clamshell can be mounted to your heavy duty gas or electric Vulcan griddle in the factory or in the field.
